Hello Shifters car show supporters and VLV Rockabilly enthusiasts,

We want to thank each and every one of you who has attended the car show over the years. Much talk has been going around lately, about us not organizing the car show any longer. At this time we would like to put this to rest and assure everyone that we will not only be returning, but organizing it to the best of our abilities. For those that have always wanted to bring out their finished cars but were always afraid due to the safety of your vehicle, we want to assure everyone that there will be specific show hours and security/off duty LVPD officers constantly patrolling the show grounds during, as well as after show hours.

We are very proud to announce that in addition to DJ's we will be bringing back live bands. We look forward to seeing some of the worlds greatest Rockabilly, Surf, Blues, and Doo Wop acts.

We also plan to have many special guests, special displays and historic Hot Rods, Customs, and race cars. We aim to bring back the QUALITY in this show as well as the quantity!

SHIFTERS CAR SHOW RULES & INFO: Car show will open at 9:00 a.m. and close at 4:00 p.m. No one will be allowed inside car show area after it closes.

Registration/check in will start Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. It will then resume Friday at 8:00 a.m. and end at 8:00 p.m. Saturday morning check in starts at 7:00 a.m. Please be sure to have proper confirmation number/ identification.

Car show doors will open to everyone Saturday at 9:00 a.m. and close at 4:00 p.m.

Car show is for Pre 1963 nostalgic Hot rods,traditional customs,and stock classic cars.

• If you register your car as a pre 1963 it must arrive as a pre 1963. All 1963 and newer cars WILL be turned away at the gate and not allowed in. Absolutely no Volksrods, low riders, exagerated theme/cartoon cars, muscle cars, high tech , fiberglass, billet street rods allowed. No tubbed rear ends and/or cars with extra wide rear tires allowed. No mag wheels made after the 1960's. painted cars are more than welcome (and actually encouraged) so long as they are traditional, meet the criteria,and most of all, fit in with the Viva Las Vegas theme.
• No Pets - The only exception being guide Dogs.
• No glass bottles - only aluminum cans & plastic cups.
• No irresponsible vehicular behavior! Burnouts (even if your car is at your parking spot) is unacceptable. There are a lot of people walking around including small children.
• No cruising. Once you are parked, no movement of cars between 10am and 5pm on the Saturday. Please keep Radio volume at a minimal level - especially when bands or DJ's are performing.
• Gang activity, harrasment, fighting, and/or threats will NOT be tolerated. This is a car show & 50's music festival, so let's all have a good time and respect one another. Anyone violating the above rules will be asked to leave promptly. Local law enforcement will enact the local laws as need be.
• No loitering in the car show area outside of car show hours.

CAR CLUBS: Please send us an email to let us know how many cars you are bringing and we will reserve a space so that you are all together. You are all welcome. For every 5 cars you register by buying wristbands, we will allow one car free and wristband free. Please contact Tom Ingram for details.

• All cars must be pre-registered.
• Cars may only be registered by those purchasing VLV11 wristbands. Purchase now.
• The car show is on Saturday April 12, 2008, from 9:00AM – 4:00PM.
• Pre-registered cars will be allowed to park in the lot from Thursday onwards.
• Outside the car show hours, pedestrian access will be restricted to those with VLV wristbands only.
• During the car show hours, no vehicle may be moved or driven around.
• Pedestrians will have free access to the car show 8am – 5pm on the Saturday.
• All vehicles must be Pre-1963 and be period correct for that era. So no fiberglass cars, high tech rods, low riders, muscle cars. VLV is a 50's music event and the car show is part of it.
• Motorcycles are allowed but come under the same rules as the cars. Pre-63, No Japanese. If your bike is in the style of The Wild One, great. But if it's Easy Rider style I am sorry but this is not the show for you.
• No glass bottles allowed in the car show area. Cars are subject to search. You can bring whatever you like if it is in a can or plastic bottle.

TYPES OF CARS NOT PERMITTED AT THE VLV SHIFTERS CAR SHOW: Attention Shifters VLV car show attendee's. Although we appreciate the amount of hours it takes to build a car from scratch, cars like the following will no longer be allowed inside the show grounds. If you have any doubt as to your car's acceptance please feel free to email us for approval before making the long haul to Las Vegas, only to get denied at the gate.
